Beginning August 1st, I will serve as the Pastor/Head of Staff at Grace Presbyterian Church in Spring Hill FL. Grace is a 600+ member church in Tampa Bay Presbytery about 30 miles north of Tampa on the Gulf Coast. Tracy and I are in the process of purchasing a home on the 5th hole of Glen Lakes Country Club in Weeki Wachee (yes I spelled that correctly).
Big church, private golf course, Central Florida Gulf Coast, with my beautiful wife . . . What’s not to love?
Thank you all for your prayers for the both of us as we’ve been searching for a permanent home! We are truly Blessed!!
Below is an excerpt from a letter I sent to The Northminster Presbyterian Church Session on Sunday, June 15th:
Dear Members of the Northminster Presbyterian Church Session,
It is by the Providence of the Father, the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the movement of the Holy Spirit that Tracy and I report to you that I have received a call to serve as Pastor, Head of Staff, at Grace Presbyterian Church in Spring Hill, Florida. We have accepted the call, knowing that it is at God’s leading. Therefore, sadly, I will not be able to renew my interim contract which expires on July 21, 2014.
As I will have to move not only from Pensacola, but also the balance of our belongings in California to Spring Hill, I will work through the Annual Congregational Meeting on June 29th and preach the last two Sundays in June. I’ll then need to begin the transition from west coast to east coast, permanently.
This interim period for Northminster has been a long haul but I believe that, though it’s been difficult at times, it has been a growing, strengthening, and forward-moving season in the life of the Church. I am proud of the leadership and the folks – Y’all are wonderful God-fearing people and I am convinced that Amazing things are in store!
I expect that it won’t be long before the PNC brings its final candidate before the congregation and then “The New Era Begins”!
I believe God is doing AMAZING things in both my life and Northminster’s! We will experience these things separately but we will rejoice together!!! I’m looking forward to enjoying the rest of my tenure at Northminster with you!

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God called me heavenward in Jesus Christ.
